The ByrdMan is Killing The New York Yankees

Marlon Byrd - AKA “The ByrdMan” - is known throughout all of the Las Vegas Sportsbooks as an outstanding outfielder who always seems to come up BIG for the Texas Rangers.

Today, we’re glad that to acknowledge one of the most underrated sluggers in major league basbeall. Marlon Byrd - AKA “The ByrdMan” - is known throughout all of the Las Vegas Sportsbooks as an outstanding outfielder who always seems to come up BIG for the Texas Rangers.

This week, Marlon Byrd has been ON FIRE! One day after hitting a walk-off grand slam to beat the Yankees in Game 1, he hit went 3 for 4 with two stolen bases in an 8-6 Texas victory in Game 2.

Needless to say, the wiseguys have been all over the Texas Rangers and the OVER during this week’s series with the New York Yankees. Afterall, the Texas Rangers own the New York Yankees this year with a 4-1 series advantage; and, the suffocating heat in Arlington Ballpark always seems to suck the life out of visiting teams around the 7th or 8th inning.

But today, the Yankees clearly have the advantage in a pitching matchup between a 22 year old rookie and a 31 year old veteran.

Former Rangers pitcher Sidney Ponson (6-2 W-L, 4.23 ERA) takes the mound for the Yankees in a nationally televised game which will be broadcast on ESPN at 8:00 PM EST. Ponson pitched well against the Angels in a 1-0 loss; and, he will be looking to duplicate that effort against his former team, the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers will send former Triple AAA standout Tommie Hunter to the mound who is still looking for his first major league win. His first outing was a forgetful one. He allowed six runs in five innings pitched against Toronto; but, the Rangers found a way to win scoring three times in the 9th inning to defeat Toronto

With Sidney Ponson and the Yankees intent on winning this game , another come from behind victory appears very unlikely.

Take Sidney Ponson (-140) vs Tommie Hunter
